If you’ve ever wondered what Marvel is up to, check out their financial statement. You’ll see exactly how much they claim to make as well as all the cool things they plan on doing.
Iron Man 2 is coming out 2010, along with Thor. The First Avenger: Captain America as well as The Avengers is coming out 2011. Jesus, why do we have to wait so damn long?
You’ll see that Marvel gets its money from Licensing ($237 mill.), Publishing ($92 mill.) and Film Production ($119 mill). You can see that they make their money in licensing and making movies. Their cash cow is licensing with quite the margin. That means whenever you buy an action figure, bed sheet, sticker or patch with a Marvel character on it, Marvel’s smiling all the way to the bank.Â
Unfortunately, they aren’t doing so well in their original concept of making comics. Why not? I mean, who wouldn’t want to buy rehashed, over priced story lines where the most creative development they can think of is having superheroes fight superheroes… again.Â
