Product Summary:
This Joker t-shirt is right off of Batman #37 from 1945. This is one of the earlier versions of the Joker, created by Bill Finger, the co-creator of Batman, and Bob Kane. Bill showed Bob a picture of actor Conrad Veidt, in make up, from the silent film The Man Who Laughs (1928). Then after, the Joker was modeled on this photograph. Set in England, 1690, featuring Gwynplaine (Conrad Veidt) who is the son of an English nobleman who has offended King James II. The King sentences Gwynplaine's father to death, via an iron maiden, which is basically a metal, upright coffin (made in the 18th century) with spikes on it, to torture people. The benevolent monarch also has a surgeon disfigure Gwynplaine's face into a permanent grin, condemns him to laugh forever at his fool of a father. The Man Who Laughs is known for the grim Carnival freak-like grin that Gwynplaine is forced to wear as an adult and has been credited to igniting the horror genre. Bill Finger and Bob Kane happened to pick the perfect character to mimic for the Joker. ... so buy the damn shirt!

this was a gift for my boyfriend, who is an avid joker fan. the shirt still looks great after many washes and he gets compliments on it regularly.
This is the best Batman t-shirt ever it so comfortable, and looks totally vintage, I defiantly get compliments on my t-shirt from Batman and non Batman fans. This is one of those don't think just buy items.
This shirt is soooooo soft. I love it. People always trip out on it. They be like, that's a crazy joker face all over that shirt, what the heck? Then I tell them you have to read to read some comics to find out what happened sucka! I have never read this Batman comic though. I hope it is not a sucky story, cause its a sweet shirt. I bet your girlfriend likes it too jock boy!
