The Justice League started off as one of those little kid 'No Girls Allowed Club', mostly in response to the Little Rascals(the precursor to the Legion of Doom). Of course much later down the path Wonder Woman and Supergirl laid the smack down, but in till that point it was just a bunch of guys sitting around trying to figure out how to make the fastest soap box derby car ever. Batman had suggested taking some parts from the Batmobile...it would have been the only soap box car that could totally encase itself in a protective metal shell. Superman, however, looked down at this because they were only supposed to use what was in the kit. Superman figured that if he was the one who started to push it down the hill, they would be alright. The Green Lantern suggested that they shouldn't even bother with the kit, but instead manifested a hard light construct of the finished product, unfortunately it only lasted 24 hours and he had forgotten the oath.
