Cerebus has a rather strong cult following for an Aardvark. A barbarian mercenary aardvark. A foul talking, hard drinking aardvark. Now that I think about it, why doesn't he have a BIGGER cult following? Cerebus is one of the longest running comic series ever by a single creative team, and has spanned over several decades.
